🇦🇷Charly García in 1982 for the cover of his landmark album Clic Modernos. 📸 by Uberto Sagramoso. Those not familiar with it, Clic Modernos was known for its electronic and new wave influences, blending synthesizers and electronic drum machines with Charly’s signature melodic and lyrical style. Rolling Stone Argentina listed it at number 2 on “The 100 Greatest Albums of National Rock” of all time. García was in the area back in 1982 recording the album at the nearby Electric Lady Studios when he found himself at the corner of Walker St & Cortlandt Alley when this picture was snapped. The consulate general and promotion center of Argentina in New York commemorated this location back in November 2023 after the 40th anniversary of its release. I absolutely love the recognition and landmark of this piece of music history. We need more of that! The graffiti tag seen above Charly of the band Modern Clix was done by Fran Powers, one of their members. It’s accompanied by the street artist Richard Hambleton’s “shadow man” image overtop/beside it. I’m not sure I’ve been requested to capture an image as much as I have of this one.
