Replying to @🖤Steph Salty🖤 The tour of the castle was approximately 2 hours in length and was so fun! Our tour guide Joe is a king amongst men. The tour cost $14 for each adult. Such a great way to spend a couple hours. 💖 #coloradocastle #gleneyriecastle #coloradosprings #williamjacksonpalmer #coloradocheck #bucketlist #williampalmer #hotel #thingstodoincolorado #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado
Replying to @user2021981548178 I always try to visit her when we stop at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Cripple Creek. She’s resting in the most beautiful place. #mountpisgah #hannahgracemarcyes #cripplecreek #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado
Have you been to the Glen Eyrie Castle, built by General William Jackson Palmer in 1871 Colorado Springs? #coloradocastle #gleneyriecastle #coloradosprings #bucketlist #williamjacksonpalmer #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado
Replying to @Whatthef**k Fred was only 15 when he passed. We haven’t been able to find any history about this Fred E. Krueger, but whenever we go to the cemetery, we make sure to leave a couple things at his site and say hello. His grave is located right behind the infamous Madame Pearl de Vere. #cripplecreek #cemetery #fredekrueger #coloradocheck #mountpisgah #mtpisgah #freddykreuger #coloradohistory #miningtown #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado #nightmareonelmstreet #historiccolorado
Our dog Apollo does NOT enjoy wild turkeys, so it’s a good thing he was at home being a couch potato watching his stories. #coloradosprings #coloradocastle #gleneyriecastle #wildturkey #colorado #wildlife #thingstodoincolorado #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado

Approximately 45 miles south of Colorado Springs, adventure awaits Cañon City. Skyline Drive, Shelf Road and Phantom Canyon Road are all thrilling. Skyline Drive can be traveled via walking, biking, horseback or driven, four-wheel-drive is not needed. You might want to bring four-wheel-drive for Shelf and Phantom canyon, however, we’ve seen plenty of people without four-wheel-drive on both of those roads. Phantom Canyon Road is pretty tame but Shelf Road isn’t for the faint of heart! If you know, you know. 😏 #c#coloradocheckc#cañoncitys#skylinedrives#shelfroadp#phantomcanyonroadc#colorfulcoloradoo#offroadb#bestdrivesincoloradol#letsgoexplorecolorado

Theodore ("'Fodor" or "Todor") Glava Born: August 1, 1875 or 1877 Died: December 4, 1918 (41 or 43 Local lore says that Glava, once a tall, thin and very pale man, was a vampire in Lafayette, Colorado. Legend believes after Glava passed away and was buried, the townsfolk saw his gravestone (with the mention of Transylvania), and dug up the grave and drove a wooden stake through his heart and reburied him. (Not an uncommon occurrence of that time. See New England Vampire Panic.) Notice the tree on his grave plot? Some say that tree grew from the stake that was driven through his heart... Legend also has it that a tall, thin, dark figure can be seen walking through the Lafayette cemetery late at night and it is believed to be the Mr. Theodore Glava, the Lafayette Vampire himself. According to The Lafayette Leader, Vol. XV, no. 41, dated December 6, 1918, Glava was an Austrian Miner employed at the Simpson Mine and died suddenly on December 4, 1918, following an attack of influenza. It was reported that he had recovered from the flu and was out on the town the night before his death. Glava shares the grave with fellow coal miner (and fellow vampire?) John Trandafir from Romania, who died on the same day, from pneumonia, as reported in The Lafayette Leader, Vol. XV, no. 50, dated December 13, 1918. Trandafir was 27. #coloradovampire #theodoreglava #locallegend #lafayettevampire #afayettecolorado #cemetery #vampires #vampiregrave #supernatural #haunting #transylvania #coalminer #todorglava #fodorglava #colorfulcolorado #letsgoexplorecolorado
