#ColorfulKitchen showcases vibrant, creative spaces filled with playful decor and lively designs. From bold appliances to unique tableware, it inspires joyful cooking experiences and a cheerful ambiance in culinary corners.
The first frame is footage of when we first looked at this house and started dreaming up what we wanted this space to be. The second part is the kitchen we (mostly) DIY built and I designed, finally completed two years later. . I often tell clients and friends that major renovations, like a kitchen (especially when you’re moving walls like we did) are best done after living in a home for a bit. This kitchen ended up looking a lot different than the one I was dreaming up while I shot that first frame, and I’m so glad we waited to break ground. We were able to learn what we needed out of the space, how it would best flow with the rest of the house, and we were also able to save up to make a better kitchen than we could have afforded when we first moved in. . I’d also like to say something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I’m never more excited about a home than when we first move into it, dreaming of all the possibilities. Each time we complete a project, while I do of course feel excited and grateful about it, it’s one less space I can dream about. And I REALLY love that dreaming part. . All of that is to say, if you’re in that dreaming stage, hold onto the joy, anticipation and excitement that comes with that.
