My niece and nephew are the closest thing I have to kids of my own and they make me proud every single day. My niece is one of the most determined people that I have ever met and just wanted to share her accomplishment today. I have to work twice as hard in the gym knowing these two are pushing me! #familytime #fitfamily #gymdad #cooluncle

NINJA WARRIOR PLAY DAY WITH MY NEPHEWS :’) Over 5 years later, yesterday I made my return to American Ninja Warrior for the very first time!! This was incredibly special though because it wasn’t about me or making my return at all…it was just about showing my nephews the “ropes”, literally an metaphorically, of the thing I loved for so long. In case we met in more recent years of life, you may or may not know that I trained for Ninja Warrior from 2017-2019, course-tested for the show in 2017 and 2019, and competed on the real show in 2018 (season 10 in Dallas). It was the most larger than life thing I’ve ever done, and it genuinely changed my life. But ultimately I had to leave it behind and “retire” from the sport because it was the most injury-prone thing I’ve ever done. I am beyond grateful for the sport and for the community I was so privileged to be a part of and train with. I miss that above all else. But I definitely don’t miss all the aches and pains that came with it 😭 All that said, my 4- and 7-year-old nephews, Teddy and Charlie, experienced Ninja for the very first time yesterday…and both of them CRUSHED IT. It was so much fun getting to watch them take on the obstacles and build confidence in themselves in real-time right in front of my eyes. It’s natural to be a bit timid with a bunch of these obstacles at first, but after trying them over and over again, they found their favorites and got better and better. They even got to see some pro ninjas do some super challenging obstacles!! 10/10 would recommend giving your kiddos / nephews / nieces an experiential gift instead of or in addition to a physical gift for Christmas :’) I got them Legos, too, but I have a feeling the memories shared together yesterday will make a deeper, more long-lasting impression on them!! If you’re in the DFW area and have kids or nephews/nieces, you gotta take them to Ninja Nation Murphy!! Such a fun time!! Merry Christmas, Teddy and Charlie! :’)🎅🏼 #Christmasgifts #Christmasgift #Christmaspresent #Christmaspresents #ninja #ninjawarrior #americanninjawarrior #cooluncle
