Good morning wolf friends!! We are coming to you today with a critically important message and a request for your help! Recently, powerful anti wolf groups introduced a citizen’s petition to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Their goal is to halt the wolf reintroduction in its tracks. The petition has seven conditions listed in it for CPW to meet, even though CPW has spent the last year listening to ALL stakeholders and fine tuning the wolf reintroduction program to meet those requirements, making the petition unnecessary. CPW staff recommend that this petition should be denied, ultimately though, it is up to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Committee to decide if it passes. That’s where you come in - the Committee needs to hear from you! Please ask them to DENY the petition, as all the topics it brought up have been addressed by CPW staff. The QR code in this video will start an email to the commissioners. Some sample talking points are below: 1. Share your support for bringing wolves from British Columbia to Colorado. Please DENY the petition to stop the reintroduction. 2. CPW has listened to all stakeholders and focused on improvements all year. They addressed the conditions that were brought up in the anti-wolf petition, so it is unnecessary. 3. CPW’s wolf team should be recognized for their successes and continued efforts to uphold Prop 114. 4. Wolves are ecologically valuable. The wolves from B.C. Are no different than what we already have. 5. The media has amplified the fear and hatred of wolves, but the facts can’t be ignored; wolves are the smallest threat to Colorado’s livestock industry. If you are unable to use the QR code, the email address to send comments to is dnr_cpwcommission@state.co.us These comments are due to the commission by January 3rd! No comments will be accepted after this date. Please be a voice for wolves by kindly asking the commissioners to deny this petition! #wolf #wolves #cwwc #coloradowolfandwildlifecenter #wolfreintroduction #cpw #colorado
