Just left the gym and went to our fave local coffee spot. ✌🏽 It’s called Coffee Break and it’s located in Bismarck ND. Go check it out. The owner is super nice and makes bomb coffee. 🙌🏽 This particular cradleboard is about 31 inches long. Super super long. The ones we make are 26 inches long. Prepping is a really important process when we begin making anything. Anything we create is done in steps. 1. Find, purchase or trade for materials. 2. Prep materials (measuring, cutting, burning (wood only), and matching)- RedRock created a lot of templates to make the process easier and faster. 3. Sew together with sewing machine. 4. Hand sew on leather. 5. Assemble wood pieces together with raw hide or leather (depending on regular size or toy cradleboard). 6. Bead edge. The whole process is multiple days. Lots of love and prayers go into them. We’ve invested in some new tools to support our cradleboard workshop preparations. Red Rock went from painstakingly cutting every board by hand, to getting a table saw, to getting a hand sander, to upgrading to a belt sander. He even went from drilling holes one by one to getting a drill press. These tools are investments in our time and efforts to make sure that our work is quality and that our workshops run smooth. This is literally the life I prayed for. 😭🫶🏽 I can vividly remember being a single 19 year old mama, living on my own. I felt so alone and so defeated. I couldn’t believe I allowed myself to end up there. I struggled but my mom and dad wouldn’t let me give up. I met @Red Rock when we were babies. He was 20 and I was 21. He was the most handsome, funniest, kindest and most amazing kisser ever. Aye. Lol. He swept me off my feet. And I fell in love all dramatically. Lol. He knew that my baby came first and he made the ultimate decision to be the ate (dad) she needed and he never looked back. They have the sweetest bond. Makes me emotional all the time.🥰 It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. We were babies when we met. Brains not even developed, tryna be in love and playing house. Aye jk Lol. But we choose each other over and over again. We surround ourselves with people who love us both and who don’t choose sides. We make intentional efforts to be the parents our children need and the partners we need to be for each other. I love this man so much. My wild children are my future. They mean everything to me.
