Today I woke up feeling anxious and overwhelmed. After requesting a reasonable accommodation under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) to recover from childbirth complications, I was suddenly locked out of my work email and files—without notice. I never resigned, but this left me feeling pushed out and unsupported during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. Postpartum recovery is already hard—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Adding stress, uncertainty, and fear about job security shouldn’t be part of the process. I’m sharing my story to raise awareness about the PWFA and remind women that they have rights. No one should have to choose between their health and their job. If you’ve faced something similar, know that you’re not alone. Document everything, speak up, and demand fairness. And I’m not playing about this one mama 😤 Prioritize providing nutrients for your body, your baby, and deep core exercises. When you’re fresh in recovery, only do what you’re cleared and comfortable enough to do.  If you incorporate weights at all in the beginning stages, they shouldn’t be heavier than the baby you’re toting around all day. You can delay you recovery by trying to move too fast (trust me, I’ve learned from my own mistakes). I have a little surprise for my mamas trying to rebuild their core, get their pre-baby bodies back, and feel confident again in their pwn skin.
