Today Declan's recovery from the flu took an unexpected turn. He went from a smooth recovery to being admitted due to low oxygen levels and dehydration. We honestly don't understand why things went this way so quickly. Declan went from playing as normal yesterday to not being able to eat or drink and low oxygen today. He is currently on 4L of oxygen while sleeping because his oxygen is dropping into low 80s while sleeping, but his lungs are clear with no signs of pneumonia. Last night we received results of the virus panel. Declan has Flu A and RSV. We knew he had flu but for whatever reason the ER didn't test for RSV. The doctors now better understand why he was having so much trouble. It doesn't really change the treatment as much as it just provides us with more answers. They did reduce his oxygen last night to start the process of weening him. So far everything has went smoothly. Declan is feeling much more himself and he is orchestrating epic battles with his Scentsy Buddies lol He ate for the first time in 3 days today which makes my momma heart absolutely ecstatic.
