Just another day in the life of debunking dental myths! ❌ Natural doesn’t always mean less toxic. Whenever someone tells me they’d rather have natural hydroxyapatite instead of synthetic, I actually prefer synthetic—because you have far more control over purity, consistency, and safety. Natural doesn’t automatically mean better, and synthetic doesn’t automatically mean harmful. It depends on how it’s made and how it interacts with the body. ❌ Glycerin does not block remineralization. While glycerin can leave a temporary film on teeth, it’s water-soluble and easily diluted by saliva. More importantly, remineralization doesn’t depend on direct contact between enamel and minerals—it happens through the movement of ions in saliva. Your enamel is porous, and as long as your saliva has the right minerals, remineralization will occur. ❌ Nano-hydroxyapatite does NOT cross the blood-brain barrier. Research (PMID: 33683238) shows it doesn’t even cross the epithelial barrier, meaning it never enters the bloodstream in the first place. It stays in the oral cavity, where it binds to enamel and helps repair microscopic damage. Unlike fluoride, it doesn’t accumulate in soft tissues or interfere with biological processes—it simply integrates into enamel, doing exactly what it was designed to do. Misinformation runs deep in oral health, but let’s clear it up. What’s a dental myth you’ve heard? Drop it in the comments! ⬇️
