Replying to @draco.malfoy1616 I can see you wanted attention, so here it is Melancholy is a SDiT and I've made that very clear from the day we got her and I've posted many clips about her progress throughout training. A simple look at my page would have answered your questions. She is not too young to be doing PA nor was she in the previous video you left that comment on. As for what age a dog SHOULD be introduced to PA, it depends on the individual dog. If she was struggling with heeling, engagement etc at 6months old then she never would have been brought inside a non pet friendly store. However because she's extremly well bred and came to us already with foundations in training due to an amazing Breeder who does the Puppy Culture Prgram, combined with the fact that we did DAILY Training since we got her at 11weeks old, she was in fact ready to tackle stores at 6months old. You dont know everything from a 1min video on the internet. Necessary steps were taken to prepare her for non pet friendly locations and original PA training sessions were kept to 10-15min sessions to ensure she didn't get "burnt out" or overwhelmed or too tired etc, a perfect 10-15min with good behaviors then we left. From there we slowly built up her stamina for how long she could work inside a store. Melancholy has gotten SO much better at this task since we first started. But she still struggles with wanting to play with the toys while training🤣 Which is fair, she's repeatedly grabbing toys and it's very tempting to play with them while interacting with them, this task requires alot of impulse control on her end and she's doing amazing with her progress💙 So why are we teaching her this skill? For one, the dogs have unlimited acess to their toy drawer - they use the string tied to the handles to pull the drawer open and help themselves throughout the day. which means every night I have to go around the house and collect all the toys and put them back in the drawer so that the next day they can inevitably take them all out again🤣 I would love for Melancholy to be able to assist in that task. But another reason why we are teaching this is because it's a transferable skill! Once she understands this task wholeheartedly we'll then work on teaching her to pick up clothes off the floor and place them in a laundry basket! #DogTraining #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #dog #doglife #doglover #dogs #desok9training #desok9
