/vent our availability is set so we can recover on days off, cuz when ginger gets home from work, there’s barely any spoons left. nathan does a great job ensuring ginger stays fronting, but external triggers & overstimulation make it challenging. there’s a lot of passive influence from the rest of the system—alters trying to step forward to say or do certain things but not fully fronting. over time, that passive influence can build into coconsciousness or even cofronting, which adds to the mental exhaustion. for our system, being able to switch freely is way less draining than trying to force one alter to front all day or dealing with rapid switching. when we allow the system to flow naturally, it feels more balanced, but work & responsibilities don’t always give us that flexibility. setting boundaries with our time & body isn’t easy, especially when life demands so much, but we’re working on it. balancing survival & self-care is a process & we’re getting better every day. anyways, this was longer than i thought it would be, so thanks for letting us share. - the scrapbook show 💙🩷🤍 . . . . .
