Replying to @Haircreatedanielle 🚨 DISCLAIMER 🚨 This is how I custom balayage my DIY hair extensions—but let me be 100% clear: the brand will NEVER recommend bleaching extensions. Bleaching WILL lower the integrity and quality of the hair. It’s just the nature of bleach—it’s harsh and unforgiving, especially on extensions. If you choose to bleach them, you’re doing so at your own risk. There’s a very real chance you could ruin them completely, so proceed with caution! If you’re still determined to do it yourself, here’s how I suggest approaching it: 1️⃣ Apply bleach carefully and don’t leave it on too long. Check the hair frequently. I like to check after 20 minutes and then every 5-10 minutes afterward. 2️⃣ Skip the toner! Instead, I use a Fanola purple mask to tone the extensions without further damaging them. 3️⃣ Once the process is done, focus on repairing the hair. Deep conditioning masks and extra TLC are a must to keep them looking decent post-bleach. ⚠️ And remember, if you’re not confident in doing this yourself, ask a licensed stylist to custom-color your extensions for you. It’s always safer in the hands of a professional. 💡 Personal note: I’ve ruined extensions before by leaving bleach on too long—sometimes you just forget they’re processing (been there 🙃). So set a timer and stay vigilant. This is how I achieve my custom balayage look, but please, if you try this, do so with caution and be okay with the possibility of the extensions not surviving the process. Drop your questions or share your results below! I’d love to see how it works for you. 💕
