The NEW DJI RS4 Mini Gimbal 🎥 This is the new RS 4 Mini Gimbal by DJI and there’s a lot to be excited about. Auto-axis lock, native vertical shooting, dedicated mode dials, a ‘flat’ folding design, a pretty sick new color, and a new RS Intelligent Tracking module that will be a real game-changer for some solo creators. Full disclosure, @DJI Official sent this out for me to try out and review, but as always, these are my complete honest opinions. That said, this is not a FULL review, but I have been using the camera gimbal for some time now, and it’s exactly as you’d expect if you have ever used DJI gimbals in the past. If you know how to properly walk with (and handle) a 3-axis stabilizer, you can get incredibly smooth footage with this little guy. The Size: I mention this gimbal is a bit larger than the RS3 mini - that is true, but it’s not by a lot. It’s still a heck of a lot smaller / more compact than the RS4 / RS4 Pro, and like I mentioned, it’s mainly to accommodate a totally ‘flat’ folding design, even at full extension. The tripod base is also longer, but it does make the gimbal more stable when set down and when balancing heavier setups. The longer tripod can also make it easier to grip, though, it is an all plastic build, versus the rubberized texture on the outgoing mini. Another small feature I appreciate is that the joystick is a bit further from the screen now, which helps to limit the number of times I accidentally initiate an on-screen menu item with my thumb. THE question: if you have an RS3 Mini already, should you upgrade to the RS4 Mini? My short answer is, ‘No’. That said, if you believe the new tracking feature can change the game for you, then by all means, go for it.
