π ADOPT LUKE π Uncomfortable truth: Humans are biased based on external appearances. Dogs just see behavior. We could all learn a lot from dogs. So is the case with poor Luke, the Husky. He's met countless potential adopters and not a one has chosen to adopt him only because he has CH, (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) π₯² What is CH? It's a congenital brain condition that results from an underdeveloped Cerebellum, the portion of the brain that coordinates movement. Since the disease tends not to progress, affected dogs with an ability to perform basic functions adequately enough to enjoy a good quality of life have an excellent prognosis. π That means he has a long life ahead of him! Besides, do you really NEED a Husky pulling you around like a sled in the arctic!? π Luke is a gem of a dog and you're not going to find a softer, kinder soul. He desperately needs out of the shelter. He lays in his kennel, waiting for love and a relaxed stroll around the block. All you need is kindness and of course, a vacuum for the fur! π Dogs have it right; they assess people and dogs based on behavior, not on external appearances. Hence, our view of always approaching a dog based on temperament, not breed. Seeing what's beyond the surface is an element of benevolent leadership.
