A home is so much more than just walls and a roof. It’s where life happens & love blossoms. It’s a space filled with memories, creativity and history. A home holds the irreplaceable old photographs of your parents, grandmas & grandpas as children growing up, the heirlooms passed down through family generations, the love time & energy poured into helping renovate your home & building your dreams by your family, the thrifted clothes & treasures that helped someone find their sense of identity… Every piece & every little detail tells a story and helps form identities to who we are. The concept of a home is so close to my heart, and it’s been deeply intertwined with my vision and dreams. I feel so grateful to have a roof over my head & to be in the comfort of my own home, and the opportunity I have to be renovating & decorating. To be rearranging my furniture & flipping through my photo albums… and my heart aches for those affected by the LA fires. Losing a home is losing more than just a place to live… it’s losing a piece of yourself, a lifetime of irreplaceable moments and expressions of ourselves. LA was a place before Oklahoma where I once called home. Losing the homes, people, animals & the historic charm of the older neighborhoods and towns, so full of character and of stories, makes my heart break. I’m praying for everyone’s safety & strength during this time. 💗
