It’s a combo of an authentic Syrian restaurant and an international grocery store! @albarakamarketandgrill has been around on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh near NCSU for over 20 years now! They originally started off with the grocery store and added the restaurant portion about 5 years ago, which has been an amazing success. Once an obscure industrial pocket across the tracks from the city’s central business district, Raleigh’s West End on West Cabarrus Street is now one of its fastest-growing central neighborhoods. I tried a Mushroom Latte at Kale Me Crazy at Village District in Raleigh near NCSU. I had never tried one before, but when I heard it was on the menu, I just had to give it a shot. First of all, it may not be everyone’s cup of ‘coffee.’ I actually really enjoyed the taste though. It does taste like coffee, with very earthy notes, and of course, without any caffeine. Now, tbh, I’m not totally sold on all the health benefits — it seems the research isn’t quite there yet—but the taste was good and I’d definitely have it again.
