We have a new pediatrician & have FULLY disclosed with all doctors/teams/specialists we work with that I document my daughters journey. •I started documenting because we were desperate for answers… not a smear campaign. •The former pediatrician said one of the staff saw my tt videos, noticed the decal, and it spread like “wildfire” according to them. HR was involved, reviewed my videos and saw nothing Incriminating. I was never served paperwork to stop. I was even encouraged to continue to advocate… until the office manager didn’t like that I was upset they lost the nose swabs & she brought up my social media & tried to avoid the topic & responsibility. •feel free to go back and watch all my videos to see for yourself the content I was making when this happened. Nosebleeds are very common. The most common type are called anterior nosebleeds and they make up 80-90% of occurrences. I see them more often during the cold winter months and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more because of the effects from the wildfires. Some causes of nosebleeds include: 🩸Dry nose 🩸Allergies 🩸Trauma 🩸Cold/infection 🩸High blood pressure 🩸Blood thinner medication 🩸Environmental exposure 🩸Nasal/sinus polyps 🩸Cancer If you try to stop a nosebleed at home and it doesn’t stop after 20-30 minutes, seek medical attention immediately. ⚠️NEW Advisory Report: Alcohol increases the risk of cancer. While this isn’t new news, surprisingly, more than half of people in the US don’t know this. Surgeon General Dr. Murthy is sounding the alarm about the causal relationship between alcohol consumption and cancer. I read the 20-page report to help you understand what it all means. Take-Aways: 1. Alcohol use is common 2. Alcohol is the third leading cause of cancer (behind tobacco and obesity). 3. Alcohol is causally linked to 7 different types of cancer 4. There are four identifiable ways that alcohol can cause cancer. 5. The more you drink, the higher your risk of developing cancer. As a head and neck surgeon that treats cancer, I support the need for more education about the risk of drinking alcohol and reviewing recommendations for “safe” levels. I also support warning labels on all alcohol because the more you know, the better informed you are when making health decisions. Will the Advisory Report change your alcohol drinking habits?
