An ectopic pregnancy is not the same thing as a miscarriage. Let me give you a run down⬇️ An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, often in the fallopian tube (like in my case). Unlike a miscarriage, which involves a pregnancy within the uterus, an ectopic pregnancy is not viable and can be life-threatening. I was bleeding internally because my fallopian tube had ruptured and needed emergency surgery to remove my left tube. A very traumatic experience that I had no idea what it even was until it happened to me. This is in hopes to anyone who experienced it or any woman to know now. Replying to @𝒫𝐸𝑅𝐿𝒜✰ Maybe if I would’ve gotten the MTX shot on Friday, I wouldn’t have needed the surgery but I couldn’t be okay with knowing I was risking hurting/ending a possibly healthy pregnancy. I chose to wait it out until Sunday, which is when the doctor told me to come back to get bloodwork and a repeat ultrasound. Coincidentally, I ended up having really bad pain, almost contraction-like pain, and was rushed into emergency surgery, where they discovered I ruptured in 2 places. Even though I got surgery, I don’t regret my decision because I wanted to get confirmation that it was an ectopic pregnancy before doing anything. I’m happy that in some cases, the doctor was wrong and some women went onto have a healthy pregnancy; I was praying SO hard that that was my case, but it unfortunately wasn’t 🥲 #ectopicpregnancy #ectopicpregnancysurvivor #pregnancyloss
