I went back and forth about posting this, but God kept tugging at my heart to share MY STORY! BUT GOD!! In 2022, an infection from an abscess had gotten into my bloodstream & began to take over my body. The doctors considered me SEPTIC. When I went into the ER I had a fever of 104. The nurse said “I am considering this an emergency”. My white cell count was 21,000. I could barely stay awake. My body was shutting down from the infection taking over my body. The infection came from a flare up (abscess) was associated with having hidradenitis suppurativa! I had to have emergency surgery ASAP. Once they were able to get the infection under control a week later, I began to go into kidney failure. My night nurse, Miss Crystal, is the reason I still have both working kidneys today! She LISTENED to me! My kidney function got up to a 3, but when I first went into the ER it was a 0.62. The doctor wanted to put me on temporary dialysis & I told my mom I did not want that! I spent 3 weeks in the hospital, I had to wear a heart monitor daily, I couldn’t eat or drink, I spent Thanksgiving in the hospital. Between blood cultures & IVs the doctors and nurses stuck my a total of 27 times & I had 5 IVs to blow! 5 represents GRACE & God graced me to see my 27th birthday! Through it all, my mom never left my side. For the next 4 months, I had to have a nurse come to my house 3x a week to change my bandages, I had to wear a wound vac for weeks, multiple doctor appointments! BUT GOD. I remember begging God to keep me on this earth to raise my own baby. At the end of this month, I am celebrating my 29th birthday! God is REAL!
