She did, in fact, not skip her nap that day. I carried her the rest of the way down the mountain, and she was out cold for two hours.💤💤 But what did happen was something deeper—something that has shaped her in the years since I captured this video. I knew she’d bonk that day. But I also knew that supporting her as she voiced her autonomy with such conviction was essential—not just in cultivating her love for skiing, but in helping her develop awareness of her body and mind. Learning to tune into her needs—physically and emotionally… her boundaries, her joy, her limits, and feeling confident in voicing them begins with me. Even at three. Especially at three. Now, nearly three years later, I look back at this and see how far along she already was—and how much she’s grown since. Today, at 5.5, she’s deeply attuned to herself and expressing her needs in a way I’m still learning to be in my 40s. Watching her do it is healing for me. And I believe it was moments like this—when my husband and I listened, explored alongside her, and allowed her the autonomy she deserves as a mindful human—that helped her get here. We are born with an ability to tune in. I believe that wholeheartedly. As a mama, I just hope to keep nurturing it along the way. @roarsome @BigSkyResort @ikonpass #naptime #mindfulparenting #consciousparenting #emotionalawareness #raisingkids
NO ONE WILL TELL YOU THIS ABOUT AGING:

Aging is both the worst thing that will happen to you and it is the best that it will happen to you.  Aging sucks. Your body starts to wind down you get sick your friends get sick family members die your memory gets thinner your body isn't doing what it used to do. Society will say that you’re washed up and no longer of value.

Aging is a privilege. You get to watch your children walk down the aisle and get married. You get to see the birth of your grandchildren. You get to retire and create a new life for yourself. You get to reconcile a lost or abusive childhood.

I’ll take the 2nd attitude any day!

AGING IS A PRIVILEGE.  As a confidence coach for women, I want to help you understand this important truth so that you can be calm and confident as you grow older. Like what you hear? Are you feeling old, insignificant, unclear how to retire with a purposeful future? How would your life change if you became mentally confident as you retire and developed a purpose driven life? I can help.  Click on the link in my bio and schedule a “LET’S MEET” complementary Zoom call today. I’d like to hear why what keeps you up at night and goals you keep missing. I'll share my coaching strategies for how you can win more in your life. #ohyesyoucan #ibelieveinyou #confidenceboost #mentaltoughness #gettingolder #emotionalawareness #aginggracefully #perspective #agingisaprivilege #womenover50 #LifeAfterRetirement #confidencecoach #confidencecoachforwomen

THE COOL PART ABOUT AGING
Yes, aging sucks.  But it’s also a gift.

NO TOXIC POSITIVITY HERE. Just the plain truth about getting older:

Aging is maturing, growing up, learning new stuff, serving others, having fun, being present, being thankful.

WOW! I sure wasn’t living this way as 20 something or a 40 year old!   💪 Every day we have the chance to “get life right”.
At 20 I was selfish and didn’t care about personal growth. 💪 Every day we have the opportunity to live a purpose driven life. At 30 I had no purpose. I was a big hot mess. 💪 Every day we get a shot at making amends for dumb mistakes we made last week or five years ago. At 40 no way was I going to admit I was wrong. 💪 Every day we can make the world a bit better than it was yesterday. Thank God I am not the same as I was when I was 20, 30 40. AGING IS A GIFT. Like what you hear? Are you feeling stuck, unfulfilled, not very confident? How would your life change if you became mentally strong and resilient, despite all the chaos going on in the world? I can help.  Click on the link in my bio and schedule a “LET’S MEET” complementary Zoom call today. I’d like to hear why what keeps you up at night and goals you keep missing. Sometimes, we pick fights not because we’re angry, but because we miss the connection. Arguing feels like attention, but real love is built on understanding. 💜 If this hits home, you’re not alone. Ever feel like you’re speaking a different language from your partner—like no matter how hard you try to explain what you need, they just don’t get it? The truth is, it’s not just about what you’re saying—it’s about how you’re saying it. When you start with criticism or blame, you’re triggering your partner’s defense mechanism. Their brain registers your words as a threat, and they shut down, get defensive, or counter-attack. 💡 Criticism is often a disguised expression of unmet needs. ➡️ If you grew up in an environment where your needs were dismissed or punished, you learned to suppress them. ➡️ Over time, this creates a cycle: You hold your needs in until they turn into resentment. ➡️ Then, when you finally express them, it comes out as blame, criticism, or frustration—because it’s been held in for so long. This doesn’t make you wrong or unreasonable—it makes you human. 💡 There is a need behind every complaint. If you start with criticism, your partner hears, “I’ve already failed you.” But if you lead with vulnerability, they hear, “I trust you enough to let you see me.” So how do you do this? Use the FEELING → NEED → REQUEST framework: ❌ “You never listen to me.” ✅ “I feel unheard when I try to share something important. I need to feel like we’re on the same team. Can we set aside time to talk where we’re both off our phones?” ❌ “You always ignore me.” ✅ “When I don’t hear back from you, I feel disconnected. I need reassurance that we’re still good. Would you be open to checking in with me when you have time?” ❌ “You never initiate plans.” ✅ “I love spending time with you, but sometimes I feel hurt like I’m the only one planning things. It would mean a lot to me if you planned something for us next week.” If you’re ready to break the cycle of conflict and learn how to express needs without triggering defensiveness, this is exactly what we practice inside my Emotional Regulation Cohort. Your Relationship Matters 🗣️🫶🏽🙂 The way we communicate and connect is essential. Before all the tasks and responsibilities of daily life, the quality of our relationships shapes everything else. If you and your partner often communicate through yelling—even over small things—try shifting your approach. Practice listening and communicating consciously, even when something seems minor. It’s not just about the specific topic; it’s about truly seeing and hearing each other, from the little moments to the big decisions. If your partner is the one raising their voice next time you forget to do the dishes or leave your shoes out of place, instead of reacting with more yelling, pause. Acknowledge their feelings and invite them to communicate in a more conscious way. This shift is like consciously practicing love, even when you’ve had a busy or stressful day. It’s about choosing to listen to each other, even when it’s not easy. The way you relate in your relationship ripples into every part of your life. Choose connection over conflict. And don’t throw the shoes from the balcony… 😘❤️ @Alessandro #ConsciousCommunication #HealthyRelationships #MindfulConnection #DeepListening #EmotionalAwareness #SelfGrowth #RelationshipMatters #ChooseLove #CouplesGrowth #CommunicationSkills #ListenToUnderstand #HeartCenteredLiving #LoveWithIntention #PersonalGrowth #InnerWork

The Power of Understanding and Honoring Your Emotions Your emotions are more than fleeting feelings—they are powerful signals from your mind and body that deserve to be acknowledged, understood, and honored. 🌿 When we take the time to truly connect with our emotions, we unlock the power of self-awareness, healing, and growth. Here’s why it matters: • Emotions as Guides: Every emotion you feel carries a message. Whether it’s joy, anger, sadness, or fear, these feelings guide you toward understanding what is working in your life and what needs attention. Honoring them allows you to explore what needs to change or be celebrated. • Avoiding Suppression: When we suppress our emotions, we ignore our inner truth. Over time, this can lead to mental, emotional, and even physical health issues. By allowing yourself to feel, you can process emotions in a healthy way and prevent them from building up and causing harm. • Emotional Intelligence: Understanding your emotions helps you develop emotional intelligence, which strengthens relationships, improves decision-making, and enhances your ability to cope with life’s challenges. This creates a healthier and more balanced mental state. • Healing and Growth: Honoring your emotions is a crucial part of healing. Whether you’re processing grief, frustration, or joy, acknowledging your feelings helps you move through them, rather than becoming stuck. This is where true growth happens—when you honor your experience instead of denying it. How to Honor Your Emotions: 1. Acknowledge: When emotions arise, name them. Whether you feel sadness, frustration, or happiness, acknowledging them brings you closer to understanding. 2. Create Space: Give yourself the time and space to fully experience your emotions without judgment. Journaling, meditating, or simply sitting with your feelings can help. 3. Take Action: Use your emotions as a guide to take action. If you’re feeling joy, do more of what makes you happy. If you’re feeling frustrated, assess what needs to change. Understanding and honoring your emotions isn’t just an act of self-care—it’s an act of self-respect. 🌱✨ #EmotionalHealth #EmotionalAwareness
