Did you know that shaking can help you reset your nervous system and reduce procrastination? Here’s the science: When stress builds up, your body gets stuck in fight, flight, or freeze mode, making it hard to focus or take action. Somatic shaking helps release stored tension, activates your parasympathetic nervous system, and restores calm and clarity. It’s a natural way to “shake off” overwhelm, drop out of your head and back into your body. If procrastination has been holding you back, it’s time to regulate your body and mind so that you can be more productive. 🌟 Join my FREE masterclass happening tomorrow on overcoming procrastination to learn how stress impacts your action—and simple tools to break through. Hit follow if this is you 👀 If you’ve ever typed “How to stop procrastinating” into Google, you probably saw tips like “block out your calendar” and “set a timer for 30 minutes” And maybe you tried that for 2 days and then went back to procrastinating - no shame, I used to struggle with it too! What I found is that most of these neglected the fact that I was feeling overwhelmed with work or how to start, and that is why I used to chronically procrastinate and end up in sticky situations. Most time management tips you find are focused on “outer work” solutions while ignoring “inner work” solutions. On this page, I talk about how doing the inner work, including managing your emotions and belief systems so that you can overcome procrastination by addressing the root cause. ##emotionalmanagement##timemanagementtips##timeblock##procrastinating
You’re struggling to focus on what you need to do today while your brain keeps jumping from one task to the next because your nervous system is dysregulated. There’s a primal part of your brain whose main job is to keep you safe, but it often mislabels harmless situations as threats. Here’s what tends to trigger this internal “danger” alarm:
👉🏽 Ambiguous or creative projects
👉🏽 Tasks where there’s a risk of failure, critique, or disappointing others
👉🏽 Anything you’re doing for the first time Somatic work helps calm your nervous system, bringing your “lizard brain” out of survival mode so you can focus more easily, even if you have ADHD. That’s why time management takes a back seat in my signature procrastination programs. Emotional management and building self-worth are the real game changers. #emotionalmanagement #procrastination #timemanagement #nervoussustemhealing
