Feeling so many feels all at the same time- It’s something moms do best, isn’t it? And sometimes our big feelings can be a blessing or a curse, depending on how you look at it. But if you’re a mom whose kids are grown, and they’re out of your home of beginning to leave your home, I want to give you some encouragement today. An emptynest or almost emptynest doesn’t have to be “either or”. It can and should be “both and”. Our family life is changing in a big way and it’s only natural to feel a lot of big emotions. Feeling sad that your kids are grown doesn’t make you weak. Just like being happy for your kids or excited for the opportunity to write your own new chapter doesn’t make you any less of a mom. You don’t have to feel one or the other. It’s ok to hold space for and acknowledge all of your feelings. There’s nothing wrong with you. And, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. As you move into a new year that brings new goals and desires, give yourself the gift of the permission to feel both happy, excited, and sad. ❤️
