Keep it respectful! Think of this as an exercise to share and interact with varying opinions in a healthy manner. No judgement, no hate. Any “proud hater” energy will be blocked. For me, TGCF and SVSSS often swap for first place. The reason I placed TGCF first is because it was my first introduction to the danmei world and I’m emotionally attached to the donghua. I also think the antagonist is the best written and best handled out of all 3 stories. The plot overall felt more well put together and easier to digest, which I believe is in part to it being MXTX’s latest series where she honed her writing skills in more. SVSSS was the first danmei series I finished reading (since the TGCF novels at the time were ongoing). I found it hilarious and and I appreciated the shorter length. I also am a sucker for Shizun x Disciple tropes. MDZS was last for me because I didn’t personally enjoy the pacing and wasn’t invested in the plot. I became emotionally attached to various characters like Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang, but found myself frustrated with the MC and ML a lot.
