A little while ago @eXtremeRate GIFTED out a DualSense Edge and full parts replacement so let me put this together and tell you what you’re in for if you want to do the same. First up are the ribbon cables, the voice over went screws > cables > battery but you should absolutely unplug the battery before addressing anything connecting to the motherboard. Next thing is is the “mushiness” I mentioned. Again, it’s hard to tell if it’s me or the parts but considering both controllers I’ve tried have the problem (as well as someone on Reddit) I’d say there seems to be some measurement errors for the Extreme Rate stuff that don’t lead to that as satisfying press. Even using stock buttons with a new shell results in the same. Not unplayable at all and definitely something you can get used to, but yeah big bummer there. Finally, for just the shells there are only 2 screw types but if you want to change the triggers or touchpad there are additional steps. You have the use a heat gun to un-adhere the touchpad sensor from the outside plastic and the triggers are an absolutely pain to swap out, I’d recommend getting a shell color complimentary to the stock PlayStation black (which as a slight blue tint to it).
