West Hartford’s newest restaurant, The Laurel is officially open starting today! 🎉 We visited during their pre-opening Friends & Family event on Monday, and all we can say is WOW! Owner & Chef Ashley Flagg, formerly of Millwright’s in Simsbury, truly impressed us with her incredible menu and delicious, locally-sourced food. We were excited to see so many unique options from around the world, and she nailed every single one that we tried. It’s nice to have a different tapas-style restaurant in the area, and the menu really reflects the owner’s talent as a chef while remaining unpretentious. Even the drinks were amazing, and the mocktail was one of the best I’ve had! Despite it being their first night open, the service was flawless. The ambiance is perfect for a date night, special event, or gathering with friends. Located in the former Corner Pug restaurant, the space has been beautifully transformed into The Laurel while maintaining the historical charm of the building. Trust me, you’re going to want to make your reservations now, because as the word spreads, I can see this being one of the hottest spots in West Hartford!
