Which Ludlamite is your favorite? 😍 1-10? 💎 Vivianite gets all the hype from this famous production in Amazonas, Brazil, but the ludlamites are the real treat. When we first saw these at the shows, the vendors didn't know what they had. We bought everything. Ludlamites have popped up from other places like Mexico and Bolivia but they are often quite expensive and far and few between. We are excited to offer the last of our stock, fresh out of the vault (where we tuck the best of the best away) this Thursday on TikTok starting at 3PM MST. Which Chrysocolla is your Favorite? 😍 1-10? 💎 This super saturated oceanic blue chrysocolla is from the now defunct Cunyari Mine in Brazil. The semi "silicated" luster is a result of a condensed form of Chrysocolla a hydrated copper silicate, (Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4·nH2O - we suspect from a type of naturally occurring carbonic acid. These feature a distinct, beautiful leaf or wave like pattern and some feature multiple generations of growth. Part 10 of 10 - Virgo IKONS Series - Azurite and Brochantite from the Milpillas Mine in Cuitace, Sonora Mexico Brochantite pairing with both perimorphing and psuedomorphing crystals which is an unusual pairing and a neat form. Part 9 of 10 of the Virgo Ikons Series: Spinel Copper from the Ray Mine near Globe, Arizona. We just arrived in St. Croix - we and the team are taking the next 6 days off. I remembered I needed to finish this series - we might as well end the year being "ikonic" - search #virgoikons to see our other Ikons pieces) Here's some of the history behind this piece: In 1972 and then again in 1974, the worlds finest spinel coppers were found in the peral handle pit area of the Ray Mine near Globe, Arizona. These coppers were an accident when a machine operator accidentally hit and exposed a copper pocket, spilling hundreds of spinel twins onto the bench. Luckily they were saved...this piece made it's way to Wayne Thompson back then and he subsequently made the search for the next hit in 1974, among many other discoveries. Jason had wanted this particular piece since having first seen it in Wayne's safety deposit box back in the mid 70s. It took years of finagling to finally achieve it and Jason considers this the 2nd finest copper specimen on the planet. The finds at Ray were never equaled and they have truly become iconic.
