Holding Matsyasana, Fish Pose, will help build equal parts strength and flexibility. It’s important not to flatten the spine and overactivate the front body. Instead, make a nice arch and tuck the head under while extending the arms forward. Engaging the back muscles will help support the spine. Once the lotus position is stable, reach the knees to the ground. Breathe deeply and allow the subtle flow of energy to work in the body and mind.
