Again no hate at all to this person, I would love to be able to eat like this because I love food. I just want to be able to use this as a way to show you that you can make food swaps for lower calorie higher protein options IF you are trying to eat healthier. A lot of people donā€™t want to eat healthy because they think itā€™s just water, bland chicken and broccoli. Itā€™s not. You can still enjoy a whole lot of food and a wide variety of meals and still eat healthy. Also there is a ton of fear mongering around food because certain things arenā€™t ā€œhealthyā€ and that the only way to eat healthy is to eat grass fed pasture raised ethically grown steak and beef tallow off of a cutting board. Itā€™s important to know that nutrition is on a continuum. Some things are better than others as far as nutrition goes and some things are better than others as far as taste goes. Itā€™s up to you to find the balance that helps you hit your goals and make you happy. Hereā€™s my truth: Iā€™ve been both overweight and been severely underweight beforeā€”struggled with anorexia, other EDs, and all the mental and physical battles that come with them. Iā€™ve fought to gain muscle from both sides, and let me tell you, both journeys are hard. When I was underweight, my body was starving for nutrients, and gaining muscle felt like climbing uphill without enough fuel. I had to rebuild my relationship with food, push myself in the gym, and slowly reverse the damage Iā€™d done. But going from overweight to muscular was an entirely different challenge. Scientifically, itā€™s harder to lose fat while simultaneously building muscle. My body fought back with every calorie deficit and every new strength goal. It was a much longer process, filled with trial, error, and immense patience. Neither journey is ALWAYS ā€œeasier.ā€ Both come with struggles, growth, and lessons. What matters is that we stop comparing and start respecting each otherā€™s paths. In honor of my 22nd birthday coming up next week, Iā€™m reminded of how far Iā€™ve truly come in my recovery and journey to truly loving myself šŸ«¶šŸ¼ There was a time when I truly thought Iā€™d never break free. The cycle of restriction, guilt, and self-hate felt endless. Food was fear. My body was the enemy. And every day felt like a battle I was losing. But hereā€™s what I want you to know: you can and will heal. Itā€™s not easy. Itā€™s messy, painful, and sometimes feels impossible. But if you keep pushingā€”even when itā€™s hard, even when it feels like nothingā€™s changingā€”youā€™ll get there. Recovery isnā€™t linear. Some days youā€™ll feel on top of the world, and others youā€™ll feel like youā€™ve taken ten steps back. But every time you choose to nourish your body, every time you choose kindness over criticism, every time you allow yourself to simply liveā€”youā€™re breaking that cycle.
