We all want to eat intuitively. To be able to eat what we want, when we want it, without restriction. But also for most of us…without gaining weight. The truth: Intuitive eating when used in this context is an ADVANCED form of eating. Hot take: Guilt isn’t always a bad thing. I said it 🫣 Everyone is on a mission these days to eliminate guilt. No guilt over skipping workouts No guilt after a night out And while I am FULLY on board that we shouldn’t feel constant guilt about our choices…guilt is actually meant to be helpful. Helpful guilt helps us realize when we’re acting in a way that’s NOT in line with our goals. It’s meant to give us a heads up like “hey, maybe we should be doing less of this”. On the other hand, there IS unhelpful guilt. Guilt that’s based on “shoulds” rather than true values. “I should workout 6x a week” “I shouldn’t be eating sweets” ^^this is the kind of guilt we want to minimize. This weeks podcast episode is all about guilt. I’m breaking down: 💫Helpful vs unhelpful guilt 💫How to tell the difference 💫What to do when unhelpful guilt creeps in Head to my bio to listen to the full episode or search for The SweatSimple Podcast #146. #fitnesspodcast #fatlosspodcast #healthypodcast #foodguilt #guiltypleasure
🚨 The Hidden Dangers of Staying in a Calorie Deficit Year-Round 🚨 If you’re constantly eating in a deficit, you might be doing more harm than good! ❌ Chronic calorie restriction can: ⚠️ Slow your metabolism, making fat loss harder over time ⚠️ Lead to muscle loss, reducing strength and definition ⚠️ Disrupt hormones, causing fatigue, cravings & mood swings ⚠️ Increase injury risk & weaken immunity ⚠️ Cause nutrient deficiencies, affecting hair, skin & bone health 💡 Here’s the fix: Instead of staying in a deficit all year, give your body a break—especially in the winter! A maintenance phase can help restore metabolism, improve muscle growth, and set you up for better fat loss results when you cut again. 🔥 Winter is the perfect time to focus on strength, recovery, and fueling your body properly. Don’t fear maintenance—embrace it! Your results will thank you later. Ep 62 is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube!
