As the Trump administration moved to pause foreign aid, Republicans repeated a misleading claim that as little as 10% of foreign aid from a key agency goes to help people in need. USAID, the U.S. government’s international humanitarian and development arm, leads U.S. efforts in many countries to provide food and medicine and supports developing countries’ economic growth. U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., appearing Feb. 2 on CBS’ "Face the Nation," said when it comes to USAID funding, "10 to 30 cents on the dollar is what actually goes to aid. So there's not the right amount of command and control that's going on with the way that it's set up currently." Mast appeared to be referring to a USAID report on 2024 funding that said about 12.1% of the agency’s money goes directly to small local organizations in foreign countries. But money provided to local partners is only one portion of the aid. The rest of the money is distributed through "implementing partners" — organizations and companies that operate internationally and which are often based in the U.S. The implementing partners spend the money on food, medicine and other assistance in developing countries or pass it to local organizations based in those countries. We rate this statement False. #usaid #foreignpolicy #aid #factcheck
Putin’s KGB tactics—manipulation, flattery, and strategic coercion—seem evident in his approach to Trump. By engaging in direct peace talks and sidelining NATO, Trump appears to adopt Putin’s strongman strategy. His transactional view of alliances and personal diplomacy mirror Putin’s style, raising concerns about how Russia may be influencing U.S. foreign policy . #Putin #Trump #Geopolitics #USRussia #KGBTactics #ForeignPolicy #Diplomacy

Trump suggests U.S. could “take over” Gaza, rebuild it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” During his meeting with Netanyahu—his first foreign visitor of his second term—Trump floated the idea of removing unexploded bombs, economically redeveloping Gaza, and resettling Palestinians outside the territory while it’s rebuilt. Netanyahu called the idea “worth paying attention to” and reiterated that Israel will end the war by winning it. Trump also reaffirmed that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon” and warned against Tehran developing atomic bombs. Netanyahu praised Trump as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had,” recalling their close alliance during his first term. #Trump #Netanyahu #Gaza #MiddleEast #Israel #Palestine #ForeignPolicy #Geopolitics #USPolitics #InternationalRelations #Iran #Diplomacy #ConflictResolution #Ceasefire

The USAID website is down and USAID is being absorbed by the State Department. #usaid #foreignpolicy #world
A foreign aide freeze and USAID shutdown will only weaken our influence in war zones & grow opportunities for rivals like China and Russia to expand their reach. When critical services in Ukraine & Africa are shut down, including veteran support and HIV/AIDS treatment, it will come back to haunt us. This isn’t just about politics—it’s about global stability. I believe that slashing foreign aid entirely weakens U.S. national security & diplomatic leverage. What are your thoughts? #USAID #ForeignAidMatters #GlobalCrisis #NationalSecurity #ForeignPolicy
Trump’s proposal to occupy Gaza as leverage against Iran is aggressive—it’s a geopolitical gamble with massive risks. Do you think using Palestinian land as a bargaining chip could escalate tensions, or resolve them? #ForeignPolicy #MiddleEast #trump
USAID, which operates with less than 1% of the federal budget, is cited by experts as a critical tool in foreign policy, helping to address global issues like infectious diseases and humanitarian crises. Now, with a stop-work order on USAID, many are concerned about the effects on global stability, national security, and the impact on American jobs, with more than 10,000 jobs already confirmed as eliminated. Dr. Allyson Bear, a former USAID officer who was with the agency for 10 years, shares her perspective on the importance of the organization. A petition calling for a halt on this order is urging people to take action to preserve these efforts. Trump Imposes Sanctions on Colombia Over Deportation Flight Dispute In a significant escalation of U.S.-Colombia relations, President Donald Trump has announced a series of sanctions against Colombia following its refusal to accept deportation flights. The measures include a 25% tariff on all Colombian imports, with a potential increase to 50% within a week, as well as travel bans and visa revocations targeting Colombian officials and their associates. Enhanced customs and border inspections for Colombian nationals and cargo have also been implemented. Colombian President Gustavo Petro defended his decision to deny landing rights to U.S. military planes carrying deported migrants, emphasizing the need for dignified treatment of returnees. The Trump administration, however, views Colombia's actions as a threat to U.S. national security and public safety, prompting these retaliatory measures. This dispute underscores broader tensions between the U.S. and Latin American countries over migration policies and deportation practices. The imposed tariffs could have significant economic implications for Colombia, a key trading partner of the U.S. As the situation develops, diplomatic negotiations may be necessary to resolve the conflict and address concerns regarding the treatment of migrants and adherence to bilateral agreements. #TrumpSanctions #Colombia #DeportationFlights #USColombiaRelations #TradeTariffs #ImmigrationPolicy #GustavoPetro #USPolitics #InternationalRelations #MigrantRights #NationalSecurity #HumanRights #TradeWar #Diplomacy #LatinAmerica #EconomicImpact #ForeignPolicy #GlobalNews #breakingnews

President Trump announced that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to initiate immediate negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. This decision follows a productive phone call between the two leaders, where they discussed the mutual benefits of collaboration and the urgent need to resolve the ongoing conflict. President Trump emphasized the importance of working together, stating that such cooperation would be greatly beneficial in the future. In a related event, American teacher Marc Fogel, who had been detained in Russia, was released following negotiations between a special envoy from President Trump and Russian officials in Moscow. Fogel expressed gratitude to both President Trump and President Putin for their roles in securing his freedom. These developments mark a notable shift in U.S. foreign policy, with the Trump administration moving towards direct engagement with Russia to address the Ukraine conflict. The upcoming negotiations aim to establish a framework for peace, with further discussions anticipated at the Munich Security Conference. #T#TrumpP#PutinU#UkraineWarR#RussiaP#PeaceTalksN#NegotiationsF#ForeignPolicyB#BreakingNewsG#GeopoliticsW#WorldNewsU#USPoliticsD#DiplomacyZ#ZelenskyR#RussiaUkraineWarR#RatedRedf#fypL#LosTrece😈f#fypシ゚viralf#fypシf#fypシ゚viral🖤tiktok4#4upageシ

Isn’t it funny how America is obsessed with “protecting its borders” from immigrants, yet has no problem bulldozing into other countries, taking land, dictating policies, and making millions suffer? Let’s break down the insanity:    •   Palestine: Trump has openly suggested that Palestinians should just leave their land forever—like it’s that easy to erase entire generations from their homeland. Forced displacement? That’s a war crime. (NY Post)    •   Greenland: Trump wants to buy Greenland like it’s a piece of real estate up for grabs, despite Denmark making it very clear that Greenland isn’t for sale. Imagine another country trying to buy Texas—Americans would lose their minds. (NY Mag)    •   Panama Canal: Now, he’s talking about reclaiming the Panama Canal because, apparently, the U.S. should just own anything strategically important. Newsflash: Panama has been an independent country since 1903, but sure, let’s pretend we still control their infrastructure. (The Guardian)    •   China & Hong Kong Shipments: And just to make sure everyday Americans suffer too, he’s blocking all package deliveries from China and Hong Kong. So, for those of you who love your cheap Amazon finds, guess what? You might not be getting them anymore. Hope you enjoy those “America First” consequences. (Business Insider) So, let’s get this straight:    •   The U.S. freaks out about immigrants and refugees “invading” its borders.    •   But it’s totally fine for America to meddle in, buy, take over, or dictate what happens in other countries?    •   We tell migrants to “stay home and fix their own countries” while we’re actively destabilizing other nations? The hypocrisy is mind-blowing. America doesn’t actually believe in sovereignty—it just believes in power. And people keep falling for the lies. #Hypocrisy #DoubleStandards #StayOutOfOtherCountries #HumanRights #Palestine #ForeignPolicy #WakeUp
