Sometimes when you receive placement information about children, a child may be labeled as having a “history of aggression.” It’s important to remember that aggression is a trauma response and may not accurately describe what the child is experiencing and needing. Sometimes this label is completely false, or perhaps an incident happened years ago, or perhaps there is more to the story that can better describe what they need and the type of the support you will be providing. My hope is that you as a foster parent will be more confident asking questions and saying yes to kids who experienced these trauma responses. #fosterparenting #fostercare #fosterparent

I knew in my soul that this was not gonna be an easy journey, but had to listen to my own advice that I have always given my children and that is: “Anything worth doing is never easy”.
