You are no doubt aware that just within the last 36 hours we are experiencing the beginnings of fascist takeover in the federal government. There have been over 200 executive orders signed, many of which target trans and non-binary people directly. I’ll be talking about next steps in the days to come. Right now I want your help. While we’ve seen terrible EO’s, my first focus of concern is free travel. Right now we don’t know how things will play out. Here’s how you can help - if you are anUS citizen who has had the gender marker changed on your passport & who is traveling outside the US, please send me a private message or an email letting me know if you’ve had challenges coming back into the US. If you are traveling domestically but must present your passport to TSA to fly, please let me know your experiences. I’ll share the data with my legal & activist colleagues. While I hate what’s happened with Meta, I have 60k followers on IG, 40k on TikTok, plus 10k on Threads. Only 400+/- on BlueSky. For now, I’m staying put because: - It’ll take me a minute to move all my videos over to YouTube &/or Patreon &/or my website (that I still need to build); - “Trans Dad” is a brand that I’ve built across platforms that is important to me &, I hope, to my followers. Even if were to slow my engagement with a platform, I won’t delete my profile because I don’t want anyone spoofing me or taking my brand; - I don’t want folks without the capacity/interest in moving platforms (again) to feel abandoned by me; - I refuse to bend the knee to fascists. I’ll keep doing what I do as part of the resistance & use the platforms/distribution networks I have until we go back to newsletters & print media.
