Where to Eat in Fukuoka, Japan 🍴🇯🇵 Fukuoka is known as Japan’s street food capital, and you’re going to find so many yummy dishes in this city! I only stayed in Fukuoka for three days back in October, but it just wasn’t enough time! I can’t wait to go back and try more restaurants and incredible food. Until then, here’s a list of places to check out if you’re heading there soon! 😋 📍海鮮居酒屋 魚喜 I saw this sweet shrimp bowl all over social media and just had to try it! The restaurant was tricky to find at first, but luckily, it was empty when I arrived 1.5 hours before closing. The shrimp bowl was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! 🍣✨ 📍Maedaya Motsunabe Nakasu Motsunabe, or offal/intestine hot pot, is a must-try specialty in Fukuoka. I know intestines might sound intimidating if you’re unfamiliar, but having them in hot pot was so good! 🥘 This restaurant lets you choose between a miso, soy, or spicy broth. When I visited Fukuoka, the weather was getting chilly, so this was incredibly comforting to eat. Just a heads-up—it might get a bit heavy since intestines can be fatty. 📍Itookashi Not many places in Japan open for breakfast, but this spot does at 7 AM! 🌅 They’re mostly known for their izakaya at night, but I loved their Itookashi Gozen breakfast set. It was so yummy and the perfect way to start the day. 🍳 📍Ganso Hakata Mentaiju Mentaiko (pollock roe) is a Fukuoka specialty, so it’s a must-try if you’re visiting! This restaurant is super popular with both tourists and locals. You can choose between a mentaiko rice bowl or enjoy it in tsukemen ramen—both are absolutely delicious! 🍚🍜 📍Ocean House If you’re looking for a fancy meal with a view, this restaurant is perfect! 🌊 I loved watching the ocean waves while dining here, and the sunset was chef’s kiss. 🌅 If you plan to visit, make sure to reserve certain seats in advance! 📍Hakata Issou Main Store You can’t visit Fukuoka without trying the ramen! 🍜 This city is the birthplace of Hakata-style ramen (tonkotsu ramen), known for its rich and creamy broth. A must-visit for any ramen lover! 🤩
