Go to my bio to get my How to Use Instagram to Start Your Garden Business guide and learn how to turn your A.M. meetings into garden sessions 🙌 When I used to work a 9-5 office job, I would go to sleep the night before early morning meetings DREADING having to get up in the morning. But I noticed something – on the weekends, or work day mornings when I didn’t have to be at my desk quite so early, I looked forward to waking up early for gardening sessions. It wasn’t ever about getting up early – it was how I was spending my mornings. Quitting my 9-5 and becoming a garden consultant has made me a full-blown morning person, because I get to spend every single morning in the garden 🥰🥰🥰 If you’re ready to quit your 9-5 and start gardening full-time this year, you hardly need a thing to get started right away. #garden #gardening #SmallBusiness #sidehustle #plants #gardencoach
If your “symptoms” include: -Feeling unfulfilled at a desk job that isn’t where your passions actually lie -Craving more time in the garden and less time answering emails and sitting in meetings -A deep desire to be able to set your own schedule and prioritize what matters most to you … it might be a sign you should quit your job and become a garden consultant in 2025! On Feb 3-7, I’m hosting a free Bootcamp where I’ll teach you everything you need to know to start making money doing something you ACTUALLY love this year. Go to my bio to get your ticket! I just did this and wanted to share because I think there are parallels with taking anything new on that doesn’t feel familiar or comfortable, and that definitely includes gardening for a lot of people. First, major shoutout to people who do this professionally. It’s hard work and it’s complicated! Second, I wouldn’t have taken this without my friend Eva by my side. She has some tools I don’t have and a can-do attitude about pretty much everything, and she had done this before so it was a fun project. I helped her with her garden a few years ago and she was actually the catalyst for starting my garden coaching business so it was fun being on the receiving end of the help. What is my point? I think it’s important to try hard things but also to accept guidance, help and mentorship. I don’t know how much that would have cost ($800? $1000?) but it was about $375 in materials and it probably took me an additional 6 hours after the initial 5 that she and I spent. That was a lot of time. I don’t necessarily plan on doing more of this but it’s very satisfying to be able to do this myself, even with an assist. It’s also a good winter project. (And it’s blue and orange…ish…which has been a theme lately in a few posts and stories) It’s not perfect but I am proud myself and now I’m motivated to refinish that table at some point. Do you have any projects you’re excited about getting done over the winter? If they involve chairs and foam, make sure to cut the foam larger than the wood so the sharp edges are adequately covered. About me: I am a garden coach and consultant and I meet with people in person around the Boston area and virtually everywhere.
