Everyone seemed to love the video of Tadpole yesterday, here is when I set her on the ground and she immediately went feral wild gator, so fierce!!đ Make sure you check out todayâs hour long video about the ethics of âpetâ baby gators in FL, posted on my channel GatorChris on the long form video app I canât mention on the this app lol. Tadpole is missing her tail, likely from a predator as a hatchling. Alligators rely on their tails for swimming, so without one life is very difficult in the wild and itâs very rare to see one survive to adulthood in the wild with this injury. Thankfully, tadpole has a great life here at the sanctuary! As this little gator grows by the month, a prosthetic tail would NOT make sense, youâd have to replace it for $6k every other month. We also just update the sanctuaryâs amazon wishlist if anyone wants to help out! Iâll post it in the commentsđ~~~Our rescue gators are wild caught nuisance gators that wouldâve otherwise been destroyed. The state of Florida destroys 8,000 ânuisanceâ gators annually, but we donât have a nuisance gators problem but rather a nuisance HUMAN problem. 1k people a day move to FL, unsustainably developing the land, and a lot of ignorant people making a nuisance out of themselves. NEVER feed a wild gator, never have kids or pets near the water, and never swim in gator habitat! And of course, never attempt anything you see in my videos! If you would like to donate to the care of the sanctuary animals, we greatly appreciate any support!! You can make a tax deductible donations directly through our website bellowingacres.org @bellowingacres
