When I say I do my boyfriend’s nails….i mean he curates a mood board, buys me dinner, picks a stupid movie to watch on the projector while we sit for 4+ hours sculpting a set with mixed shapes, lengths and TEXTURE. We also always start late at night and end up finishing with both of us getting SO sleepy 😭. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Nails featured here: 1. Teeth & gore set with real bearded dragon molt & claw shapes 2. Ducks floating in a blood lagoon (I really wanted to do ducks and he really wanted it to not be so cutesy so we met in the middle 🤗) 3. 3D slashed eyeballs & spine for our first full nail art set! 4. Fang nails for Halloween 5. Real tiny rodent vertebrae floating in a black lagoon (ethically sourced :)) 6. The first claw set I ever did + some bone art for a keychain 7. My most recent set with him about the masks we wear in society. Hyper realistic press on nails tutorial! Most tutorials I saw weree for in person appointments or acrylic nails, so I tried out a few methods to make a press ons version and found this to be the best! Some tips: - work in layers! You don’t want the nail to be too opaque or else it won’t look real when applied. - the French tip part itself (the grown out nail) should stay a thin layer to allow light to pass through (similar to a real nail) - the base area should be very slightly translucent so that the color of the actual nail bed is able to pull through in the press on when applied. Too opaque and it will look too fake as the color won’t make the real nail bed color. - when applying flex tint (the base color), overlap the French tip line slightly to “blur” the transition. Before curing, go in with a milky white to further blur the line. Repeat 3 times! - matte top coat 3 times to add strength and then buff with a fine buffer. Easy puffy embossed star nail art tutorial!! Using @functionofvex Supersculpt. This tutorial uses only sculpting gel rather than medium viscosity gel that you see in other tutorials. Here I did 2 methods: 1. I sculpted the star using Supersculpt tinted with yellow from the Aura Melt Palette (tinting technique inspo from @piopionails) and pressed that into a thick layer of Supersculptx. The yelllow tint allows you to see the star shape better. I then went over the star again with yellow paint and the background with green paint. 2. The second method and perhaps easier one was to just paint the star before “embossing” it into the nail. This way i only had to paint the background of the nail and not the star after embossing. Come with me to do 12-hour Y2K cartoon nails 💅💅 I spent 8 hours pre-sculpting some characters before my client came in. The appointment itself was just over 4 hours for a hefty total of 12 hours. This set made my inner child SHINE. She told me to go “buck wild” and didn’t want to know anything about the set until the end. The creative freedom and trust made my brain work so well. I incorporated characters from: Powerpuff Girls, Inavader Zim, Billy & Mandy, Fosters home for imaginary friends and Kim Possible. This was my first time doing such a elaborate character 3D set for a client and I am so so so thankful I get to have clients that allow me to do this 🥹🥹🥹 thabk you for trusting me !!!!! Used @functionofvex Hypersilk for almost all the bases of the nails to add some reflective fun beneath the sculpt.
