Today, we honor the pillars of strength in our families, and the keepers of ancient wisdom... Our GRANDMOTHERS! On Grandma Day we pay tribute to these extraordinary women who have nurtured our lands, guided us with unconditional love, and passed down their invaluable knowledge through generations. We celebrate their selflessness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to their families and communities. May their stories, traditions, and love continue to inspire and empower us all! #GrandmaDay #Matriarchs Here’s a statement from the artist, @ ditnik.kwun (Stellat’en First Nation): “A grandma’s love and wisdom passes on to their children, their grandchildren, and future generations. They are the matriarchs of our families and communities. Growing up, grandma’s house was a second home to me. What sticks with me most is the aroma of the food she’d make - stew, bannock, mush, pancakes - so yummy! All of our big family dinners were held at her place and oftentimes us kids would pack into every corner of her house for a big sleepover. She always welcomes us and other family and friends with open arms. Atsoo, n’kesi’!” Artist Info: Emily Graceanna Pearson (she/her) Stellat’en First Nation Instagram: @ ditnik.kwun
