Comment PAN for a link to the awesome tall-sided cookie sheet! These blonde brownies have been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. My granny’s original recipe sometimes included coconut, but we’d also switch it up with M&Ms or chocolate chips. For a festive Valentine’s Day version, I used pink and red M&Ms, white chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Doubling the recipe and baking it on a large cookie sheet ensures a chewy center with a perfectly crispy top—just like Granny’s! Ingredients: • 2/3 cup butter, melted • 2 cups brown sugar • 2 large eggs • 1/4 tsp baking soda • 1 tsp baking powder • 2 tsp vanilla extract • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour • 1 cup Valentine M&Ms • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large cookie sheet with taller sides. 2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. 3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. 4. Add the baking soda, baking powder, and flour. Mix until just combined. 5. Fold in the Valentine M&Ms, white chocolate chips, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. 6. Spread the dough evenly onto the prepared cookie sheet. 7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden and slightly crispy. 8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Tips: • If you prefer a gooier texture, bake for slightly less time. • Feel free to substitute coconut or other mix-ins to make it your own! This recipe brings back so many warm memories for me, and I hope it becomes a favorite in your home too!
