i have over 70 pineapples fruiting this year. i am so proud. each year i take all the pineapple tops (from pineapples ive eaten) plus all the slips/suckers (these babys) i find- and i plant them ALL. i have 3-4 varieties right now, my favorite being the sugarloaf white pineapples. YUM. they are acid free with an EDIBLE core! the color is phenomenal as well as the smell! pineapples take about 2 years to start fruiting after you put them in the ground. then another 9 months to let the fruit ripen. so one pineapple usually takes about 3 years to grow.
