Gym Etiquette ✨Skincare Edition✨ Don’t let your New Year’s resolutions create new problems for your skin. 💄Remove your makeup before workouts, especially foundation. We don’t need makeup melting off our face and dripping into our eyes during downward dog. Plus, sweat mixing with makeup can trap dirt and oil in your pores, leading to acne breakouts. Use a gentle cleanser or a few swipes of micellar water on a cotton pad. 🏋🏻Disinfect gym equipment before (and after) using. Bacteria, fungi, and viruses live on high contact surfaces. Save yourself a trip to the derm by wiping down your equipment. 🚿Shower immediately after your workouts. If you’re on the go, you can use gentle water wipes or even medicated pads to prevent breakouts. I like the ones from @Clean Skin Club , bonus points if you follow with some hypochlorous acid spray @Tower 28 Beauty . 🦶🏻Don’t go barefoot in public shared spaces. Shower sandals may not be the cutest, but they’re cuter than athlete’s foot and warts. These pesky infections are contagious and can take MONTHS to treat. Prevention is way easier than treatment. 👩🏻⚕️Connie Yang, MD FAAD 📍West Village & UES ☎️(212) 327-2919 to schedule
