Have you heard about the hottest new Chinese restaurant in West Hartford? 🔥 @sichuanalleyus recently opened this past fall, bringing delicious modern Chinese cuisine with a Szechuan influence to the area! We instantly loved the vibe of the dining room, and the menu had so many fantastic choices. There’s even whole sections of the menu dedicated to gluten-free and vegan options! Many dishes are available spicy or non-spicy, so there’s truly something for everyone. Sichaun Alley actually got its start in Singapore, and West Hartford is its first U.S. location! The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. If you plan to dine in, we highly recommend making reservations, as it was already packed when we went at lunchtime. Many times when we find ourselves on the Berlin Turnpike, we stop in to @T-Swirl Crepe 📍Berlin, CT for a little treat! 😋 They specialize in Japanese style crepes, which are made with rice flour rather than wheat flour, making them gluten-free! You’ll find them to be crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. They hold the fillings so well that you can skip the fork & knife and just take a bite, making it an easy on-the-go snack! @T-Swirl Crepe has so many flavors to choose from! On this visit, we went with their refreshing strawberry cheesecake crepe, as well as one of their newest flavors, dulce de leche! T-Swirl offers boba tea in addition to crepes, so we had their taro milk tea and strawberry banana slush. You can find T-Swirl nationwide, with CT locations in Berlin, Fairfield, New Haven, Middletown, and the Danbury Mall. You can also order delivery through UberEats and DoorDash! These below freezing temps have us wishing we were somewhere warmer, so we visited @MofonGo Restaurant • CT for a taste of Puerto Rico right here in CT 🇵🇷☀️ We took a drive to Willimantic to check out their newest location, and we were impressed as always with their food! Their mofongo is made fresh to order, and the pernil was cooked perfectly. While we were deciding what to get, a woman in line convinced us to try their sorullitos, which are cornbread fritters stuffed with cheese, and we are so happy she did 😍 You’ll definitely want to get a couple when you visit - check out the rest of the featured menu items in this video on my Instagram page! West Hartford’s newest restaurant, The Laurel is officially open starting today! 🎉 We visited during their pre-opening Friends & Family event on Monday, and all we can say is WOW! Owner & Chef Ashley Flagg, formerly of Millwright’s in Simsbury, truly impressed us with her incredible menu and delicious, locally-sourced food. We were excited to see so many unique options from around the world, and she nailed every single one that we tried. It’s nice to have a different tapas-style restaurant in the area, and the menu really reflects the owner’s talent as a chef while remaining unpretentious. Even the drinks were amazing, and the mocktail was one of the best I’ve had! Despite it being their first night open, the service was flawless. The ambiance is perfect for a date night, special event, or gathering with friends. Located in the former Corner Pug restaurant, the space has been beautifully transformed into The Laurel while maintaining the historical charm of the building. Trust me, you’re going to want to make your reservations now, because as the word spreads, I can see this being one of the hottest spots in West Hartford!
