Sometimes I forget. I don’t forget where they came from. I don’t forget their story. But I forget who they once were. I forget the shell of the being that was in front of me.. because all I see is who they are now. Everyday I see our kids. And I see them in their loved, whole forms. Like Luka here. I watch him and Maxine everyday. But I forgot. I forgot that when he came to us.. he was so thin his bones poked through. That he couldn’t walk in a straight line because of an infection raging in his body, and one night shortly after his rescue, him and I had to speed to the hospital cause he could hardly stand. I almost forgot that he was in the hospital for nearly a week with a poor prognosis. Because I have the honor of seeing him like this.. everyday ❤️. . . I usually am good at keeping my thoughts in order.. but too be honest.. my brain is spinning. Today was farrier day and we did 7 trims! Each was $50 and next week will be another group of kids. Our main farm truck in the shop and I am working on getting a back up truck as the reality is.. hauling these big kids around is going to put wear and tear on our truck and I can’t ever not be able to haul if there’s an emergency. Tomorrow we have a $2,500 hay order coming in (which is our average weekly cost). We are getting ready to clean up our old property to get it listed on the market.. and finish off our big move. And then… we have something very special in the works for our barn build that will be launching February 1st!!! Yup!!! Perhaps a repeat friend 😊. I can’t wait to share more!! And while this is allll so amazing and I am not complaining in the least cause I love what I do and I am so beyond blessed and grateful.. those nerves in my stomach still flutter. : . Tomorrow is $2 Tuesday for hay and farrier bill.
