⁉️ Is your patient Warm & Dry, Warm & Wet, Cold & Dry, or Cold & Wet? Let’s break it down! ⬇️ When I was studying for my CCRN, I used THIS chart to help me navigate fluid status assessments and cardiac output measurements for those tricky case-study style questions! In summary, the categories are… ☀️ Warm & Dry = Stable (aka the “ideal” patient!) 🌊 Warm & Wet = Volume overload (diuretics needed!) 🥶 Cold & Dry = Low perfusion & low volume (pressors & fluids!) 🌨️ Cold & Wet = Cardiogenic shock (inotropes & diuresis!) - #nursing #icunurse #newtoicu #newgradnurse #nursetok #nursesoftiktok #criticalcare #icurn #icunurselife #nurselife #cardiacicu #cardiacnurse #ccrn #hemodynamics

Remember that a mean arterial pressure (MAP) of at least 65 mmHg is the minimum acceptable MAP for adequate organ perfusion. . 💦Positive JVD assessment indicates fluid volume overload. JVD is assessed with the HOB at a 45 degree angle. . 🩸Elevated lactate levels indicate cellular-level dysfunction, often due to hypoperfusion, ischemia, or hypotension. Elevated lactate does not solely indicate the presence of septic shock. . #nursingschool #nursingschoolhacks #criticalcare #hemodynamics #icunurse #nursingstudenttips #studentnurse
