🍃🌟History One Hitter!🌟🍃 . Today we’re talking about World War II’s 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion which was a predominantly Black battalion made up of 850 who relieved Allied mail bottlenecks that were anywhere from 6 months to 3 years backlogged! . Some might think “so they sorted mail, big deal!” But imagine you’re a soldier fighting overseas and you have zero mail going out or coming in. Not hearing from loved ones (or loved ones hearing from you!) SERIOUSLY effected morale and low morale was detrimental to the war effort! In fact, the 6888th’s motto was “no mail, low morale” . 🎥 A film about the Six Triple Eight, directed by Tyler Perry, was recently released by Netflix in December 2024. Have you seen it yet?! . ‼️ Note: In this video I say the 6888 was predominantly Black because some new information from the 6888th organization’s website (all sources are listed In captions!) said that it’s recently been found out that there were at least one Puerto Rican woman and one Mexican woman in the group. . .
