Exploring Hoi An’s Timeless Charm Amidst High Waters 🌏✨ Day 8 brought us to the enchanting town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site rich with history and beauty. After a morning flight to Da Nang, we journeyed south to this picturesque destination where the past truly comes alive. Our walking tour through the Old Quarter revealed centuries-old treasures like the Phuoc Kien Pagoda, the bright-red Japanese Covered Bridge (400 years of history!), and the Ancient House. However, heavy flooding in the historic area added an unexpected twist to our adventure. Some streets were submerged, and at one point, we even had to cross a bridge on a motorbike because walking wasn’t an option! Despite the challenges, the town’s magic was undeniable. From colorful shophouses to locals donning the elegant “ao dais,” Vietnam’s traditional dress, Hoi An’s charm shone through. We ended the day with a delightful dinner at a local restaurant, savoring the flavors that make this town unforgettable. Hoi An proves that even high waters can’t dampen its timeless spirit!
