As crazy as it might sound, this app truly changed my life. You see, when I first downloaded this app near the end of 2020, I could have never imagined the generational run that would follow. The joy and laughter I was able to provide to millions of people across the world by simply creating videos filled me with a sense of fulfillment that I had never experienced before. It took me over 2 years to reach 100k followers, but not even for a day did I ever think about giving up. I decided to join the Creator Rewards Program in early 2023, which was one of the best decisions I ever made. I began taking TikTok even more seriously and was able to reach 200k followers in a matter of a couple of months, and then 300k followers soon after. I eventually got kicked out of the Creator Rewards Program after just a few months, but the money was never why I started, so it wouldn’t be why I stopped. I continued posting and even caught the attention of my favorite NFL player Rashod Bateman who asked me to create content for his account, which was absolutely insane. Reflecting back on when I first started, I began to realize just how crazy this entire journey was. And while this journey may be coming to an end, the impact this app and my millions of fans have had on me will never disappear. A pen may run out of ink, but the writing will stay forever. If you’ve read this far, there must be a reason. So if I could leave you with one last lesson, it would be this: True success isn’t measured by your salary or job title, but by the courage to pursue what lights you up inside, whether it be providing joy to millions of people online like me, or something completely different. Our generation needs to rewrite this narrative that equates giving up your dreams for “safer” options. We all have something that drives us to get out of bed in the morning, and I promise you that if you stick with your passion, success will follow. Your dreams weren't given to you by accident, God gave them to you because He knows you have what it takes to make them real. Why 9 senior citizens who have probably never opened TikTok are ruling on an app that over half the American population uses, I have no idea. But I guess it is what it is. One last time, I just want to thank the over half a billion people who watched my videos and supported me throughout this journey, you truly mean the world to me and I couldn’t have wished for anything more. What started as a hobby became my passion and purpose in this world, and I couldn’t have done it without you all. But a good captain goes down with his ship. I wish you all good luck in life and I’m praying TikTok gets saved somehow, but for now, bateman.nation out 🫶
