Interventionists often position themselves as the solution for families in crisis, but the reality is many of them prey on vulnerable families during their most desperate moments. They use fear and guilt to push expensive interventions that often prioritize profit over real solutions. Instead of offering evidence based options, interventionists rely on outdated, confrontational tactics that can cause more harm than good, and that harm is both to the individual and the family. They exploit the family’s love and fear, turning them into customers instead of empowering them with real support or education about harm reduction and recovery OPTIONS. Families deserve better than to be manipulated into spending money on an intervention that often does little more than funnel their loved one into programs that also use outdated methods.
