This made my day. 🥰 Mom was so happy when she saw me this morning. When I was little, she always used to say I was “so cute” and I wholeheartedly believe this morning she recognized me as her daughter. I don’t expect it to happen these days and I don’t wish for it any more because I have accepted the reality of her dementia, but this was truly a little treasure from the universe and it made my heart smile. And I figured we could all use a smile right about now. 🤟🏼 Holding everyone so close to my heart…love you all. ❤️🩹❤️ [video description: 1 minute video of Carmen, a white female in her early 80s, with gray hair pulled back. She is wearing a peach colored sweatshirt and sitting in her wheelchair. Her daughter, MJ is behind the camera and greets Carmen with a, “Hi!” as Carmen begins to silently mouth, “Cute” and tries to point to MJ. MJ expresses gratitude with a tone of pleasant surprise. The video transitions to MJ signing “Good morning” to Carmen and asks if she’s happy. Carmen nods, “yes” and MJ proceeds to tell her she loves her. The following is MJ signing, “It’s a cold, snowy day here in Maine. Thinking of the people out in California. The families, the friends. Everyone. Heart wrenching. My heart is with you. Love to you.]
