"Did you know January 1 is not the real New Year? 🤔 In the Bible, the new year began in the spring, as God declared in Exodus 12:2: 'This month shall be unto you the beginning of months.' It marked the first month, Abib (Nisan), when the Israelites prepared for Passover and deliverance. So why January 1st? Well, this comes from Roman tradition, dedicated to Janus, the god of doors and beginnings. This tradition, passed down through centuries, is a reminder of Colossians 2:8: 'Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.' It’s time to return to God’s laws, step away from worldly traditions, and reject idols! You can’t serve and honor God while waiting for the “ball to drop” and counting down the minutes to a “New Year” that’s not even new! . . . . .
