Jalapeno Cheddar Bread Recipe Ingredients: -420g bread flour (~3.5 cups) -1.5 tsp salt -2 tsp garlic powder -1.25 cups warm water (105 F) -1 pack of instant yeast (0.25 oz packet, 2 1/4 tsp) -1 jalapeno, seeded and diced + 1/2 jalapeno in round slices to top off -2 cups shredded medium cheddar (8oz bag, 226g) + extra to top off Instructions: -Mix bread flour, salt, garlic powder, water, yeast, jalapenos, and cheese together in a stand mixer with the hook attachment until well combined.
-Fold/knead dough inside bowl, add more flour if dough is too wet, or more water if too dry. (cheese may add hydration) -Shape dough into a round loaf, cover with towel, let rise in warm place for 1 hour. -Fold dough/knead again 8-10 times, cover and let it rise for 1 more hour. -Preheat Dutch oven to 450F. -Place dough on floured surface, fold corners into itself, score an X down the center of the dough. -Top with leftover cheese and jalapeno slices, place dough on parchment paper and place into Dutch oven (please be careful, Dutch oven is super hot) -Bake with lid on for 30 minutes and 20 minutes with lid off. -Let it cool fully (2-3 hours) before cutting into it
